Formatting a Computer and Install a fresh copy of Windows XP is an easy task than Installing Software after the Reformat. Reformat our PC due to corrupted windows system by viruses, To format a hard drive in Windows XP means to delete all information on the drive including documents, Pictures, videos Song etc..

 I made this tutorial Step by Step with Picture for who don't know how to do this or don't want to do any mistake during formatting, then follow these simple steps.

Before you attempt to format a computer with Windows:
  • Backup your computer files and settings.
  • You should also make sure you have a copy of your Computer Drivers and a copy of your important passwords.
  • Backup your Important files in the Document e.g. Pictures, Videos, Music, Documents etc..
Important things that you need:
  • Computer
  • Bootable CD/DVD of your Windows XP
  • Full Driver of your Motherboard (When you bought your computer it comes with CD Driver of your motherboard.)
Here we go, This is how to Format a Computer and Installing a Fresh Copy of Windows XP: 
  1. Open up your Computer and press DEL (delete) to enter bios setup. Normally delete(DEL) is pressed to enter the BIOS setup, but sometimes there is also ESC or F1 or F2 or F10.
  2. On your Bios Setup, change your first boot device to CD/DVD rom then change the second boot device to your HDD.

  3. Save the changes you have made Press F10 or ​​see the bottom of the screen shows what the press to save your bios setting, then insert you Windows XP CD / DVD in your CD / DVD rom, then reboot our computer.
  4. Press any key or Enter, spacebar, or anything you like.

  5. you will see this message "setup is inspecting your system configuration...", don't do anything until it comes to this page: Windows Setup, setup is loading files page. Wait until loading of files is finished.

  6. A page will appear that looks like this, then press ENTER to continue.

  7. end-user license agreement page will appear then press F8 to agree and continue the setup.

  8. A page will appear that displays the existing operating system installed on your pc, then press ENTER as stated below to continue setup.
  9. The screen will show the different partitions on your computer and it will look like the image below, highlight the partition named C: by following the instructions below the screen on how to select an option, then again press ENTER to setup windows on the selected partition.

  10. There will be four options that will be displayed, choose FORMAT THE PARTITION USING NTFS FILE SYSTEM or you can choose the first option FORMAT THE PARTITION USING NTFS FILE SYSTEM (QUICK), then press ENTER again to continue setup.

  11. Then wait until setup formats the partition.

  12. After copying of files, the setup will now reboot to continue the installation, wait 15 seconds and it will automatically reboot, or press ENTER if you can not wait 15 seconds. NOTE: While the computer reboots, do not press any key so it will not boot your cd / dvd again.

  13. The computer will reboot and wait until setups continues, you will see the image below and wait for about 30 to 45 minutes for setup to finish installation.

  14. While Installing Windows, The new windows will appear, just click next.

  15. There will be personal information needed to be typed.(Name and Organization).

  16. The setup will ask for your product key(Enter your product key) then click "NEXT".

  17. there will be another information, Enter your Computer Name, if you do not want to use a password for your Computer just leave it Blank. then Click Next.

  18. The setup will ask for the date and time, my time zone is pacific time GMT 8.

  19. After you click Next You will back to Installing Windows Screen.

  20. After a few Minutes A new Will Appear again, Just Click Next.

  21. Just Enter your Work group or Computer Domain, Just Enter anything you want, then Click Next.

  22. Your Windows is Finalizing Installation, Just wait until it Finish.

  23. After Finalizing Installation is Finished. your Computer will reboot it Self. NOTE: While the computer reboots, do not press any key so it will not boot your cd / dvd again.

  24. The Welcome Screen will Appear. Just Click Next.

  25. Its up to you what you want to select, mine is "Help Protect my PC by Turning on Automatic Updates now" After you select Click Next.

  26. Just Click Skip.

  27. After you'd Skip The Registration will Appear, select "No, not this time" then Click Next.

  28. Fill up the Information, Just enter your Name, e.g. John,. then Click Next.

  29. Click Finish.

  30. Congratualtion you have Successfully Install your Windows XP :)

  31. You may now Install your Computer Drivers. Antivirus and Other Important Software Like Microsoft Office..
